The human element is the true foundation of aviation safety. For years, traditional CRM has focused on the same nine required topics, teaching concepts like decision-making and workload management in isolation. But as our specialized community of Human Factors experts knows, human performance is deeply intertwined. HFx 2026 is a unique gathering created exclusively for the small group of professionals who champion this human element in Canada. Our time together is designed to completely rethink how we approach our curriculums. On the first day, we will dive into expert research that connects the dots between our core topics. We will explore the science behind human behavior—such as how stress triggers our nervous system to impact our situational awareness, or how dopamine secretly shifts our tolerance for risk. Then, on the second day, we turn that groundbreaking theory into action. Collaborating alongside the sharpest minds in our field, we will work together to build new, practical training syllabi designed to seamlessly transfer this knowledge to our flight crews.
